At Llandough Primary School we have in place robust procedures to ensure that:
● we meet our responsibilities for safeguarding children from abuse
● school personnel are protected against false allegations of abuse
As part of our curriculum children have opportunities to develop the skills they need to recognise and stay safe from abuse. Children know that they can approach any of the adults in our school if they are worried about anything at all.
All staff and governors have annual update safeguarding training.

At Llandough Primary School, we believe that when well-being is at the heart of school life, all members of our community are supported to succeed. We are committed to creating a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child can develop and achieve their full potential.
We promote pupils’ well-being through a range of universal, targeted and specialist approaches, including:
To help us understand and respond to the well-being needs of our pupils, we use regular check-ins and observations alongside staff knowledge of each child. This ensures that any pupils who may require additional support are identified early and supported appropriately.
As part of our targeted provision, we offer support through our ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) programme. Trained staff work with pupils individually or in small groups to support their emotional development, helping them to understand their feelings, build resilience and develop positive strategies for managing challenges.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an international agreement that sets out the rights of all children.
At Llandough Primary School, we are committed to promoting these rights and ensuring that pupils understand them. We encourage children to respect their own rights and the rights of others. We aim to create an environment where all pupils are treated fairly and with respect, feel safe and supported, and are encouraged to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
We recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents and carers to support the well-being of our whole school community. We promote this through:
